Welcome to my page and I hope you bare with me while I figure the format and mechanics of an excellent food critique and somehow try to become a very good food critic. In this blog mostly i'll just share with you my goal, my ideas, and my qualifications. Hopefully this will turn out to be one of the better blog pages I've ever written, and I only can hope that much since it is structred around a certain thing that I love... FOOD.
Why am I writing about food?
Well... I like to eat food. I eat food everyday. And generally, I feel, that people want to know where good food is and where good food isn't. Don't you want to know what its like in that diner that you've been passing by for the last month and if the food is good? Have you ever asked yourself "Wonder what that place has, wonder if its any good?" Have you ever gone online and wanted to see what what people were saying about a new restaurant that just opened? I could be that guy and this could be your go-to site. Which leads me to a good segue, I know where good food is and where good food isn't because I don't really cook at home and I have eaten at a lot of restaurants around me. As I travel and go to more places, it would be a good idea to document my thoughts of the places i've eaten and share them with people. For example, I traveled across the United States a few years back, it would have been cool if I had documented some of those times I ate a local diner or a hole in the wall place just so that I could share it with other people who may be in that area traveling.
Now people are probably wondering why I don't cook at home or how I can talk about food if I don't even cook? "He's not a chef," they'll say, "who's he think he is? Well.. easy... I don't have to know how to cook food to know that it tastes good, just like I don't need to write music to know I like listening to it. Right? Now, as to the part about me not cooking at home - that's a long story. My kitchen is not exactly a dream and I'm always out and about and to come home and enjoy something after I make it is oversighted and time consuming at the least. So I choose to enjoy what the "pros" make. I wish to go to places that make this stuff everyday. And then I wish to tell you about it. Other foodies will tell you about a certain kind of cuisine like Italian or Japanese, while others will only talk about food in high nosed, fancy places that only have cloth napkins and cloth table coverings and mention things like all serving plates should go on charger. Well... i'm different. I will be talking to you about every eatery that I go to. Delicious or unpalatable, you will hear about the new fast food joint or the old fashioned diner on the county road. You may even be surprised to see me in a quality restaurant talking about what my date thinks of the place and her reactions to the atmosphere and the overall dining experience. I can be as classy as Mr. Bean or I can be a regular Joe eating a BLT on white, you'll be hearing what I have to say - the truth as I know it.
So enjoy... from the first bite to the last crumb, The Crumber will certainly entertain you.
